Hickory wood chips Napoleon – 67003 – El Tio Sam Puerto Vallarta
Hickory is a species of hardwood tree found abundantly throughout the world. It is hardwood and is fantastic for smoked foods, especially pork and bacon. The bold flavor produced by smoking with hickory wood chips is bold and often associated with Southern barbecue. Soak hickory wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes before you begin smoking. You do not need to use water alone. Other liquid combinations go well with hickory such as beer, American whiskey, ginger ale, Coke, apple juice, pineapple juice and even a cabernet sauvignon. Remove the chips from the liquid and place them in Napoleon’s smoker tube, then directly on the sealing plates of your gas grill, on your hot coals in the Apollo® 3-in-1 charcoal grill and water smoker, or in the integrated smoker tray in Napoleon’s PRO665 Prestige PRO series gas grill. Once the hickory chips begin to smoke, place the food you are adding flavor to on the grill. Keep the lid closed while smoking to get the best results from your hickory wood chips.
